Confident in Ukraine, Moldova EU candidacy - Michel

European Council President Charles Michel stated that he is confident that Ukraine and Moldova will be granted candidate status for European Union membership, ahead of the summit on Thursday, Teletrader reports .
"I am sure that today we will give the status of candidates to Ukraine and Moldova," Michel told the reporters.
Following the approval from the European Commission, the decision on Ukraine and Moldova's candidacy will be delivered today at the summit in Brussels, although the process could take years before the countries join the bloc.
