The Attack Has Been from Azerbaijan, They Have Not Invaded the Territory of Armenia from Mars Planet: European Parliament\'s Standing Rapporteur on Armenia to RA NA President
On October 21, the RA NA President Alen Simonyan received the European Parliament's Standing Rapporteur on Armenia Andrey Kovatchev.
The NA President, in the person of the guest, expressed his gratitude to the European Parliament for adopting relevant resolutions and reports in favour of Armenia.
At the meeting, the issues of the anti-Armenian rhetoric consistently sounding by the higher leadership of Azerbaijan, the destruction of the Armenian cultural and religious heritage and the repatriation of prisoners of war and the civilians were discussed.
Touching upon the large-scale aggression of Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of Armenia, the sides recorded that the issue of the conflict settlement again an attempt was made to move from the table of negotiations to the battlefield, turning it into large-scale aggression against the sovereign territory of Armenia. Andrey Kovatchev noticed that this is not the case, when they should equally call upon the sides on the ceasefire. “The attack has been from Azerbaijan, naturally, they have not invaded the territory of Armenia from Mars planet,” He added.
“We have been long ago and repeatedly warned our international partners about the new war and we expect from them targeted statement condemning the actions of Azerbaijan,” Alen Simonyan noted in response. He underlined that he highly appreciates the continuous mediation efforts of the European Union, the arrival of the EU Observation Mission to the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
At the end of the meeting the sides also talked about the report to be published by the European Parliament in the near future.
