Armenia-Mexico Friendship Group spoke out loud about the continuing Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh, referred to the blockade of the Lachin corridor
We have come to Armenia to develop the inter-parliamentary relations, taking into consideration the fact that this year will turn the 31st anniversary of the establishment of the bilateral diplomatic relations. The Chair of the Mexico-Armenia Friendship Group of the Chamber of Deputies of Mexico Berenice Juárez Navarrete voiced about this. On January 17, the members of the Armenia-Mexico Friendship Group of the RA National Assembly met with the delegation led by her. Thanking the NA deputies for the reception Berenice Juárez Navarrete highlighted the development of cooperation, particularly, in the cultural, educational, as well as in the economic spheres.
Welcoming the guests’ visit to Armenia, the Armenian parliamentarians also evaluated the deepening of cooperation between the legislators of the two countries, particularly, the Friendship Groups, as well as in the spheres of bilateral interest.
According to the member of the Armenia-Mexico Friendship Group Gurgen Arsenyan, the friendship between the peoples of Armenia and Mexico is formed long ago, and has deep roots. Berenice Juárez Navarrete expressed opinion that there are painful pages in the histories of the two countries.
During the meeting the members of the Armenia-Mexico Friendship Group spoke out loud about the continuing Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh, referred to the blockade of the Lachin corridor and the humanitarian problems caused because of it. The Armenian parliamentarians emphasized the reaction of the international community in the created situation.
Regarding the establishment of peace in the region, the member of the Friendship Group noted: “We cannot speak about a long-term peace, unless the Nagorno Karabakh conflict has not been solved yet and the right of self-determination of the Artsakh people has not been accepted.” According to the deputy, the reference of the international community to the issue of the right of the Artsakh people’s self-determination is on the agenda, taking as a basis the resolution Recognition for Salvation.
