Ararat Mirzoyan presents to NATO Secretary General the consequences of blocking the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan
On January 23, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, who is in Brussels on a working visit, had a meeting with Jens Stoltenberg, the NATO Secretary General.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on regional and international security issues of common concern.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia briefed the NATO Secretary General on the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from Azerbaijan's illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor, as well as the consequences of the ongoing policy of ethnic cleansing of Nagorno-Karabakh by the Azerbaijani authorities. In this context, the importance of the international community’s clear actions towards ending the inhumane blockade of Nagorno-Karabakh and bringing the Azerbaijani side back to the negotiating table was emphasized.
Ararat Mirzoyan briefed Jens Stoltenberg on current developments in the normalization process of Armenia-Turkey relations.
During the meeting, the sides commended the level of Armenia-NATO political dialogue and touched upon the current cooperation programs and future prospects.
