Alen Simonyan Receives Minister of Foreign Affairs of Croatia Gordan Grlić Radman
On February 7, the RA NA President Alen Simonyan received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Croatia Gordan Grlić Radman, At the meeting the necessity of the multi-profile cooperation aimed at bilateral relations was discussed. Noting that there was only one visit at the level of the Speaker of Parliament of Croatia, in 2011, Alen Simonyan proposed the Foreign Minister to activate the inter-parliamentary relations.
A reference was made to the role of the Friendship Groups in the active dialogue between parliaments of the friendly countries.
The counterparts spoke about the post-war situation, the Lachin Corridor crisis, the aggression of Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of Armenia and the dangers threatening 120.000 Armenians residing in Nagorno Karabakh and the continuous aggressive policy being pursued by Azerbaijan. “The policy of Azerbaijan to ban the access of the international, including the humanitarian organizations to Artsakh is unacceptable. To our deep conviction, it is necessary that the officials of the Council of Europe and the structures will have an opportunity to visit Nagorno Karabakh for carrying out monitoring of the human rights situation,” Alen Simonyan noted.
At the end of the meeting a talk was held on the opportunities of collaboration on the international platforms. The perspectives of mutually beneficial cooperation in the spheres of education, science, trade and tourism were discussed. “I think that the operation of direct flights will promote the development of tourism in two directions,” Alen Simonyan noticed.
