Deputy PM presents humanitarian situation in blockaded Nagorno Karabakh to UK Ambassador
Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan held a meeting with UK Ambassador to Armenia John Gallagher, Armenpress reports.
Khachatryan said that Armenia highly values UK’s continual support to the implementation of sectoral reforms in Armenia and that he is pleased to note the positive dynamics in the Armenian-British bilateral ties, Khachatryan’s office said in a read-out.
The Deputy PM also presented the humanitarian situation in Nagorno Karabakh resulting from the Azerbaijani blockade of Lachin corridor.
The UK Ambassador congratulated Khachatryan on assuming office and said that the UK is closely following and highly appreciating the reforms undertaken by the Armenian government.
The sides also discussed the cooperation between the Good Governance Fund and the Investment Council of Armenia, which serves as a platform for dialogue of the state and private sector between the Armenian government and the associations of SMEs. The Deputy PM and the UK Ambassador discussed issues related to developing the trade-turnover between Armenia and the UK, establishment of business ties and opportunities to enhance trade turnover.
