This week in Europe

Below we would like to draw your attention to the upcoming events in Europe that directly concern or present a particular interest for Armenia. Special attention is paid to international organizations and the scheduled meetings and events in the framework of their activities.

The plenary session of the European Parliament will take place on February 9-12. Several issues on human rights are on the agenda. Members of the Parliament will also discuss the Ukrainian crisis and the situation in Syria.

The EU Foreign Affairs Council will meet on February 9 to discuss such topics as the EU-Africa relations, fight against terrorism and situation in Libya, Iraq and Syria.

On February 10-11 Latvia will hold Eastern Partnership 2^nd Youth forum in Riga. More than 200 participants form EaP and EU countries are invited to the event.

The EU informal summit will take place on February 12. Heads of states will discuss fight against terrorism, in the wake of the attacks in Paris. The situation in Ukraine and functioning of Economic Monetary Union are also on the agenda.

NATO Parliamentary Assembly will take place on February 14 in Brussels.
