Turkey Intensifies its Fight against the Gulen Supporters
The Turkish Prime Minister Ahmed Davutoglu accused Fethullah Gulen’s movement for supporting Armenians. "Fethullah Gulen’s movement uses the Armenian lobby to exert pressure on Turkey," – trend.az quotes Davutoglu’s words. According to Davutoglu, Gulen’s movement and its supporters conduct an anti-Turkish policy, reports haqqin.az. The Turkish Prime Minister mentioned that recently Gulen has declared that Turkey violates the rights of non-Muslim population, including those of Armenians. Davutoglu stated that these words serve to the interests of the Armenian lobbying. According to him this announcement is not accidental taking into consideration the fact that on April 24 the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide will be commemorated.
In his turn the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that Gulen's "parallel structure" is even more dangerous than PKK. As Sozcu informs, Erdoğan claimed that the supporters of Gulen movement have threatened him and his family. Erdoğan mentioned that already there is a decision to fight against the "parallel structure" and this will be included in the documents of National Security.
"Today not even the terrorist PKK has caused as much damage for Turkey as the parallel structure. The latter, however, in different international platforms – parliaments, meetings with presidents, does everything to besmirch the Republic of Turkey,” said Erdoğan.
It should be noted that earlier the Turkish president had announced that the “parallel structure” cooperates with Israeli secret agencies. He has mentioned that the Gulen movement with its anti-state activities has proven that it is not a religious but a political and illegal organization.
The Turkish authorities continue their fight against the supporters of Gulen inside the country. The prosecutor's office allowed the police to arrest 29 officers who are accused of espionage and in an attempt to overthrow the government. As РИА Новости informs, this refers to a number of ministers, MPs and influential figures.
