Demirtaş: Ottoman Turkey Puppet of Germany
Co-chair of the Turkish opposition party, Selahattin Demirtaş, made a declaration in which he doubted the heroism of the Turks, who fought in the the Gallipoli Campaign, Hurriyet reports.
According to the opposition co-chair at that time the Ottoman state was "the puppet of Germany." Accordingly he called "puppets" all those who were fighting against imperialists at that period.
The statement made by the opposition politician enraged the Turkish prime minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who in response stated that those who label "patriots" as puppets "would not hesitate to become the spokespersons of imperialists today."
