Canadian Parliament to Discuss Declaring April as Genocide Remembrance Month
The Vice President of Canada-Armenia Friendship Group Brad Butt has announced about a motion to declare April as Genocide Remembrance, Condemnation and Prevention Month to be presented to upcoming session of the Canadian Parliament, Hayern Aysor reports.
The Armenian National Committee of Canada (ANCC), as news.am reports, urged all Canadians to call their Members of the Parliament asking them to vote for this motion. "This motion reaffirms Canada’s commitment to the important cause of genocide prevention and recognizes that the first step to prevention is to ensure that we remember and condemn past genocides," – news.am quotes ANCC President Dr. Girair Basmajian’s words.
