Armenians in Sochi Commemorate the Memory of the Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide

In Roman Catholic Church in Sochi today, on April 24 a mass, commemorating the memory of the martyrs of the Armenian Genocide, took place, which was organized by the Armenian Catholics of Russia. As "Armedia" IAA correspondent from Sochi reports, the mass started with lighting of 100 three-color candles – red, blue and yellow, symbolizing the three colors of the Armenian flag. The lighting of the candles was accompanied by 100 bell rings.

During the mass the priest called all people of the world to kill indifference inside them, as people have become quite indifferent towards their sorrows and the sorrows of their surrounding people.

After the mass a Stone of Memory dedicated to the 100^th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide was put in the church, then an event on the Armenian Genocide, started, during which the participants were presented the short story of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Turkey, how it was implemented, in what phases and how much the Armenian people have suffered from the atrocities of the Turkish authorities. Armenian national songs, poems and speeches on the Armenian Genocide were also part of the event.

As "Armedia" IAA correspondent from Sochi informed, more than 300 representatives of the Armenian Catholic Community of Russia was present in the mass and the event commemorating the memory of the victims of the Genocide.
