In India, 335 People Died Because of High Temperature
As a result of the heatwave in southern India, 335 people have died. In the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana only for one day, May 23, 135 people have died. The temperature there is 5-7 higher than the average temperature in May. In Khammam district in the state of Telangana was a record - 48 degrees Celsius, writes The Times of India, reports rosbalt.ru.
In the north of India heat is also observed. On May 23 in New Delhi the hottest day of the season was recorded, 46 degrees. The authorities of the states suffering from the heat advise people to take precautions and try not to go out.
Temperatures higher than 40 degrees are typical for this time of year for most of India, where, depending on the region from March to June there is a dry season, which continues the monsoon season, reports km.ru.
