"Golden Apricot" Launched in Yerevan

The festival "Golden Apricot" launched in Yerevan today. The festival will take place in four competition progras: "Fiction Film", "Documentary", "Armenian Panorama" and "Bone", which will involve 34 films from 25 countries. Twelfth International Film Festival "Golden Apricot" opens in Yerevan by showing the film of the famous French producer, director, screenwriter and actor of Armenian origin Robert Gedikyan, "The Story of a Madman". Within the framework of "Golden Apricot" there will be the program "New French Cinema", which includes the screening of films shot in France in recent years. The jury of the international competition of documentary films will be headed by Marek Hovorka (Czech Republic), the international competition of short films "Bone" - Hovik Abeshyan (Lebanon), the national competition "Armenian Panorama" - Alexander Grozev (Bulgaria).

The guests of honor of this festival will be the world famous film director Krzysztof Zanussi, the stars of world cinema Ornella Muti and Nastassja Kinski. Ornella Muti will bring to Yerevan films that will be shown during the festival. She will hand over a traditional honorary prize "For the contribution to world cinema." Among other guests of honor "Golden Apricot" will be French actor Patrick Chesnais, who played in one of the paintings contestants Armenian festival "I'm not here to be loved," and directed by Rob Nielsen, who will give a master class.
