Beijing Chosen the Capital of Winter Olympic Games of 2022

On July 31, the International Olympic Committee chose Beijing as the capital of Winter Olympic Games of 2022, BBC reports.

At the meeting of IOC the committee members were to choose between Beijing and Almaty. Before the vote, the delegations of Kazakhstan and China made final presentations.

The delegation of Kazakhstan has focused on climatic and historical factors. The slogan of the campaign sounded like "Keeping it real". "This snow, these mountains and these Winter Games," was said in the presentation of Kazakhstan.

The Chinese delegation, in turn, has focused on the fact that the city has already held Olympics, which means it has all the necessary resources, infrastructure and human resources, to repeat the Summer Games in 2008, but in winter version.
