The Opposition Syrian National Coalition Re-Elected Its President
The National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces (NKORS) re-elected Khaled al-Khoja as the president of the 23rd session of the coalition in Istanbul, RIA Novosti reports referring to Al-Arabiya.
The candidacy of al-Khoja was supported by 59 members of the session. According to the source 38 people voted for his rival. Al Hodge was elected chairman of the coalition for the first time on January 5 of this year. Previously, he served as ambassador to the coalition in Turkey.
In addition, the coalition members discussed a number of political issues, the most important one being the proposal of the UN special envoy on Syria Staffan de Mistura, which he presented to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on the completion of bilateral consultations.
