Patrick Fiori: Your power to restore Karabakh warms my heart
Within the framework of the French Days in Artsakh, world-renowned French Armenian singer Patrick Fiori on Saturday planted his own silver fir in the Peace Alley at the yard of the building of the Ministry of Culture and Youth Affairs of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR; Artsakh), reported Karabakh-Open.info. “As you know, my father is Armenian,” Fiori later told reporters “When I was young, I, like all Armenians, learned to put trees in the ground.” The singer was born Patrick Jean-François Chouchayan (pronounced Shushayan, in English), and that is why people often say his great-grandmother was from Shushi, NKR. “It seems to me that my grandmother’s maternal side was from Shushi, since there is some similarity—Shushi-Chouchayan, but I don’t want to give wrong information,” he added. “At any rate, if anyone can find [it] out, I’ll be very happy because I’m very curious about my roots.” Patrick Fiori also noted that he had last visited Karabakh ten years ago, and now, he is fascinated to see how the country has changed since then. “The power that you have to restore not solely Shushi, but Karabakh, warms my heart,” said the famous French Armenian singer.
