Abbas Calls on the UN to Protect Palestinians
As the tensions in the West Bank and Jerusalem are escalating, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas called on the UN to provide international protection to the Palestinians, The Times of Israel reports.
According to the source, Abbas spoke with the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon urging him to stop "Israeli provocations." In his turn Ban Ki-moon has promised to talk with the Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu for finding ways to calm tensions.
