Mars Company will not Call Its Products Back from Armenia
American manufacturer of chocolate bars, company Mars Inc. will not withdraw its products from Armenia. The State Service for Food Safety told "Armedia" IAA. "These chocolate bars come to Armenia from Russia and the relevant authorities of this country have already declared that chocolate bars containing plastic have not been imported to the Russian Federation and other Eurasian Economic Union member states," State Service for Food Safety said, adding that despite the absence of the threat, the State Service will continue to carry out border control.
It should be recalled that the company Mars Inc. calls its products from 55 countries back, after a piece of red plastic was discovered in a bar of Snickers, bought on January 8 in Germany, BBC reports.
According to the preliminary data, in the chocolate was found one of the plastic parts, which are used in the production. "We are currently trying to figure out exactly what happened, but we cannot be sure that this piece of red plastic is not present in other products of the same production line," the representative of the Dutch production company told France Press.
Earlier it was reported that the review will affect all products Mars, Snickers, Milky Way Minis and Milky Way Miniatures, and sets of Celebrations chocolates with expiration date from June 2016 to January 2017.
The company did not say what the total amount of withdrawn products is, and what losses it had. This is the first such case in the company, which has been operating since 1963.
