Movses Hakobyan: the Proposal to Cease Firing was Made by Azerbaijan
The proposal to cease firing on NKR-Azerbaijani border was made by Azerbaijan. In an interview with Radio Liberty the deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, former Minister of Defense of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, Lieutenant-General Movses Hakobyan said.
On the question of Radio Liberty, for how long, he predicted, this situation can last and whether the verbal agreement reached in Moscow can be sustainable, Hakobyan said: "We should state that the offer to cease firing was made by Azerbaijan, who addressed to the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Federation, and not by the Armenian side. This time we should also state that the Armenian soldiers once again forced the enemy to cease firing."
"How long this situation will last is a little bit difficult to predict, but it is a fact that the Defense Army and the Armenian armed forces continue to be ready to prevent such attacks of the enemy. I think that the enemy will draw conclusions from these actions, and if it once again tries in this way to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh problem, the answer will be much tougher," Movses Hakobyan said.
