Turkey's Prime Minister Davutoglu Resigned

The Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu has announced his resignation on Thursday. He said that will not seek a new term as prime minister and leader of the ruling AK Party after last-ditch talks aimed at easing tensions between him and President Erdogan, Al Jazeera informs.
"Following consultations with the president, I came to the conclusion that a change in the position of the leader of the party and the prime minister’s position would serve a better purpose. This must be carried out in a peaceful way keeping the integrity of the party," Davutoglu said, The New York Times reports.
He also added that his relationship with the President is friendly and he will never say anything negative about him.
