Summer is Coming: the Best Offers from Tourist Agencies

Summer is coming ... Many of us have already started dreaming of sun, sea and sand ... Some just want to enjoy a few days in our own Armenian resorts which are no less attractive. Where to go this year? What interesting offers are suggested for both internal and external tourism?  "Armedia" IAA tried to find those answers carrying out interviews with some of the famous tourist agents of Yerevan.

It is noteworthy that all those agents, without exception, told that the most popular country among Armenians for foreign tourism is Greece.

"Greece is the most desirable destination for the last few years. The prices here are more or less affordable compared to other countries, there are direct flights from Yerevan, and many Armenians are fond of Greek beaches and food. The Islands of Crete and Rhodes, as well as Halkidiki peninsula are the most popular ones," Narine from "Elite Travel" said.

It should be noted that the packages to Greece are generally for 9-10 days, according to the dates scheduled for direct flights, and the minimum price for one person one week is about 600 euros.

Marina from "Captain Travel Club" agency in turn added that there is a very large influx of Armenians also to Spain and Italy. The complete package to Italy per person per week is EUR 550-650. Marina said that this year there will also be some affordable tours to Egypt, which will cost approximately $ 500 for 9-10 days. However, it should be noted that after the aircrash in Sharm-el-Sheikh in the New Year the demand for Egypt has decreased, even many tickets had been returned or changed, but the interest for this country has now raised again.

"There has also been a decline in the flow of people to Paris and Brussels. After the terror attacks that took place in these cities, people avoide to go there. Most are just traveling there on business trips, but not for tourism," Marina said.

As for foreign tourism, there is also another noteworthy thing registered. All agencies were unanimous that there is absolutely no desire among Armenians to travel to Turkey. Neither it was last year during the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, nor it has been this year, the travel agents state.

We also talked about trends in domestic tourism with Christina from "Rica Travel", who said that in our country people usually prefer to go to Tsakhkadzor and Dilijan, as well as to Jermuk and Arzni.

"The minimum price in Tsakhkadzor per person per week is 80,000 AMD, and as for Dilijan the prices start from 120,000 AMD. Jermuk and Arzni, based on their provision of additional sanatorium services, have higher prices," Kristina noted.

Anyway, wherever you decide to travel, be it Armenia or abroad, the most important thing, as it is said, is the good company and the cheerful mood.

We wish you a pleasant trip and a memorable stay!
