German Painter: Armenia Opened My Eyes
"Armenia has opened my eyes, my perception of the world," young German artist Stefan Schwarzer said in a talk with "Armedia" IAA, whose exhibition of graphic works on Armenia opened yesterday at the German Embassy in Armenia.
In October 2015 the painter by the support of Art Scholarship Foundation of Saxony-Anhalt and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, traveled to Armenia. He repeated the path of the famous German artist Heinrich Theodor Vehle (1778-1805), who in the 19th century came to Armenia as part of a scientific expedition. "There are so many impressions, I cannot describe all. The life in Germany is different from that of here," the artist mentioned adding that he liked the Armenian people and the food. "For me as a foreign artist it is important to communicate with people, and people here are very friendly," Schwarzer said.
The artist documented his findings in Armenia with graphic works, some of which are currently exhibited at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Republic of Armenia.
