The Situation in the EU after Brexit

www.tnp.no

In Europe, after the British referendum, ultra-right and nationalistic views start to flourish.

After the Brexit, UK Independence Party leader Nigel Farage announced the vote on EU membership in four more countries.

"We can expect that the Danish people would also like to get out of the EU, the same situation may be in Sweden, Austria, and perhaps even in Italy. The EU is dying, but we were the first to leave it. It is necessary that countries should be sovereign. We do not need any joint presidency," Farage noted.

Many European politicians also responded on the results of the vote. The leader of the French party ''National Front'', in particular, Marine Le Pen and an MP of the Netherlands, Geert Wilders, both called for similar referendums in their countries.

The head of the European Parliament Martin Schulz also fears chain reaction and the so-called domino effect. In the near future he will hold talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, in order to discuss their further action in the light of the results of the British referendum.

The decision of the British government to support the exit from the EU represents the ''sunset of the European dream''. In the entire history of the united Europe, it was the biggest shock for it.
