Azerbaijani Constitutional Court Approves Draft Amendments to Constitution

The Azerbaijani Constitutional Court has approved the draft Referendum Act on making amendments to the country’s Constitution, APA reports.
On July 18, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on submitting the draft Referendum Act “On making amendments to the Constitution of Azerbaijan” to the Constitutional Court.
It should be noted that seven years have passed since the introduction of the latest amendments to Azerbaijan’s Constitution.
The suggested amendments propose to introduce the institutes of the first vice-president and vice-presidents, who will be appointed and dismissed by the president of the country.
