Austria Purposes to Halt Turkey’s EU Accession Talks

Austrian Chancellor Christian Kern informed that Austria plans to propose a halt in Turkey’s EU accession talks in September, Sputnik News informs.
Speaking in an interview with the Austrian public broadcaster ORF, Kern noted that Turkey’s economy is not in line with EU standards and criticized the measures the Turkish government took after the failed coup attempt.
The source reports that last week, Turkish Agriculture Minister Faruk Celik told that Ankara is disappointed over the ambiguous attitude of some EU member states to the attempted coup in Turkey.
