Colombia's government and Marxist FARC rebels have announced a new peace deal which they hope will end 52 years of civil war, Sky News reports.
The deal comes six weeks after Colombians narrowly voted to reject a previous peace accord which was criticised for being too soft on the rebels.
That deal was four years in the making and FARC leaders and Colombian president Juan Manuel Santos resumed talks late last month in an effort to salvage something from the peace process. After the conclusion of negotiations in Havana, however, a statement was read by diplomats from Cuba and Norway, guarantors of the peace process.
