China Plans to Bypass Turkey in the New "Silk Road" Project
China plans to re-implement the historic "Silk Road", but as the representative of ''Nerenciya Tanitim Grubu'' company Ahmed Hamdi Gyuroghan announced, Turkey is not included in the project.
"China is trying to cross the Black Sea via Georgia and in South it plans to pass through the Greek Cyprus part, thus bypassing Turkey'', said Gyuroghan.
Gyurdoghan noted that China is building a new port at Anaklia in western Georgia, which in size will twice exceed all the ports existing in Turkey, Ermenihaber reports, referring to ''Türkiye'' news agency.
The purpose is - to reach the port by train, then to enter the European markets through the Black Sea. Thus, the time of reaching the goods to their designated place will be reduced to 10 days.
The Turkish official suggested taking immediate steps to maintain Turkey’s position in the region.
