Sirusho: We Were Given Two Days to Shoot the Video of "Der Zor" in Ancient Armenian City Ani (VIDEO)

Armenian singer Sirusho had a childhood dream to shoot a video in the historic Armenian city of Ani, which is now located on the territory of modern Turkey, Sputnik Armenia reports. 

With great difficulties, after receiving refuses to shoot a video in Ani, at last her dream came true.

"We were given two days for shooting the video. After the presentation of my new album "Armat" (roots) we went to Turkey ... In the cities of Ani and Kars Armenian soul was reigning. When we arrived in Kars – everything was so familiar and exciting. I saw Armenian architecture. I had an impression that we were just walking on Abovyan street in Yerevan," Sirusho said.

According to the singer, it was very painful to see the empty houses with the lights off, forgotten, abandoned and dusty ... It was much more painful to see that non Armenians were living in these houses.

The shooting of the video "Der Zor" continued in the United States with the participation of Armenian children. This was Sirusho's idea, who wanted to show that the Armenians went through this long way, escaping from their homeland during the Genocide.
