UN Chief: I Urge All Concerened to Show Greater Political Will to Renew a Sustainable Negotiation Process
Secretary-General Antonio Guterres during the Security Council open debate on conflicts in New York told that the United Nations fully supports the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and urges the parties to the conflict to de-escalate tensions and fully implement agreed conflict prevention measures.
This is being informed by Armenpress news agency.
According to the UN chief, the term “frozen conflict”, which is often used about conflicts in Europe, is misleading. As he emphasized, until the peace agreements are signed and implemented, the risk of renewed violence remains, as it was happened last year in April in Nagorno Karabakh.
“I urge all concerened to show greater political will, not only to strengthen the ceasefire regime and implement previous commitments, but to renew a sustainable and comprehensive negotiation process”.
