We Will Be Able to Overcome Global Challenges More Easily, If We Work in the Direction of Their Prevention, Not Solution: Karen Bekaryan
"Everything in the world has changed, but the foreign politics of the US has not changed. It is wrong to associate any instability with the US. The more the US is trying to come up with egoistic stance, the more it is being accused for instability," this was declared by the chairman and the founder of the Center on Global Interests of Washington, Nikolay Zlobin.
Today one of the factors of instability is the changing functions of the actions, when the state for example losses control over economy.
According to the director of the programs of Valdai International Discussion Club, Ivan Timofeev today conservatism is being perceived in a wrong way. According to him conservatism comes from the thesis that insecurity is inevitable and in such case conservatism becomes a mitigating factor.
The RA NA Deputy, the Chairman of "European Integration" Karen Bekaryan refered to the issues of security and development in general, stressing that during the history it has always been difficult to pass from stability to development. In this regard he said that in the context of development, security should be regarded not as an aim, but as a tool.
Referring to Armenia, he mentioned that for us "either-or" policy is impossible taking into consideration our geopolitical location. "When we say that our policy is based on «and-and» policy, it does not mean that those "and"s should have the same weight," Bekaryan said, adding that it is not clear why our partners do not see any postive elements that come from that "and-and" policy.
"We will be able to overcome global challenges more easily, if we work in the direction of their prevention, not solution," Karen Bekaryan added.
