Orange County of the US Declared April 24 as Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day

The Orange County of the U.S. California State has declared April 24 as Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day. The decision was adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the county, Asbarez reports referring to Panorama.am.
The source notes that representatives of the Armenian American community of Orange County, as well as Reverend Fathers Moushegh Tshajian from St. Mary Armenian Church in Costa Mesa and Karekin Bedourian from Forty Martyrs Armenian Church in Santa Ana attended the session with the latter also addressing the crowd.
Chairwoman Michelle Steel opened the program by stating that this year marks the 102nd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide that took the lives of one and a half million Armenians.
