Chair of a Catering Firm Detained in Food Poisoning Case at Military Barracks in Turkey’s Manisa
40 people have been detained, including the chair of a catering firm, in the food-poisoning case at the military barrack in the Aegean province of Manisa, Hurriyet reports, referring to Anadolu Agency.
Some 25 suspects were referred to the court as part of an investigation that began after 731 soldiers in the Manisa First Infantry Training Brigade Command were hospitalized late on June 17 after being affected by food poisoning.
The judicial process of the other 15 detained suspects is reportedly ongoing at the security headquarters in Manisa.
The catering firm, whose contract with the military barracks was cancelled after the mass food poisoning incident on June 20, had also been accused of another food-poisoning incident in 2016 at the Finance Ministry.
