Artsakh Defense Army Published a Video Proving that Azerbaijan Deployed Artillery in Civilian Populated Areas

Defense Ministry of the Artsakh Republic released on Friday a video, showing Azerbaijani military has deliberately deployed its artillery positions within civilian settlements in order to use them as “human shields” against Artsakh retaliatory measures, Panorama.am reports.

“The Azerbaijani official propaganda continues its policy of deception and falsehood with another expression of which occurred on July 6, when the Azerbaijani defense ministry, prosecutor general’s office, and foreign ministry facilitated the visit of foreign journalists and military attaches accredited in the country to Alkhanlu settlement, where they were allegedly provided with “irrefutable evidence” about the non-existence of military base and firing points there.

The Artsakh Defense Ministry said the Azerbaijani tactic of misleading the international community, and, specifically the military attaches accredited in the country, is not new, recalling the previous visit to Jojuk Marjanli settlement that was claimed to have been ‘liberted’ due to ‘brave actions of Azerbaijani army’ in April 2016, whereas in the reality the village had been under the control of Azerbaijani armed forces since 1994.
The Defense Army next reiterates that the Artsakh republic never targets civilian population and objects. “However, when the adversary uses its civilian population as a human shield and fires at Artsakh serviceman from military posits deployed near civilian populated areas, those posts will as always will be silenced,’ the release said, that also unveiled a footage showing Azerbaijani artillery deployed near Alkhanlu village.
The ministry added that the adversary has been violated the ceasefire in the southern direction of the Line of Contact since July 7 morning onward, firing from D-44 divisional guns, mortars, and automatic grenade launchers.

“Frontline units of the Defense Army continue to control the situation on the frontline,” the Karabakh Army said.
