Aliyev Did Not Miss the Chance to Discuss Karabakh Conflict

The 22nd World Oil Congress ended In Istanbul, where Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev also participated. Within the framework of the forum, Aliyev met with the Presidents of Turkey and Serbia, the Prime Ministers of Bulgaria, Albania and Turkey, as well as with the USA Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson. Let's discuss the two of Aliyev’s meetings, in particular: one with Erdogan and another with Tillerson.

During Aliyev-Erdogan meeting "the successful development of Turkish-Azerbaijani friendly and fraternal relations, with the high level of ties in the political, economic and other spheres’’ were stressed.

According to Azerbaijani media, during the conversation "the successful implementation of projects of strategic importance in the energy sphere between the two countries was noted, and in particular, it was stressed with satisfaction that the TANAP project will be completed next year."

The Presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey also talked about further expansion and strengthening of cooperation between the two countries in the military sphere. The meeting also discussed the issues of Karabakh conflict settlement.

Aliyev informed his senior "brother" in detail about the situation on Karabakh-Azerbaijan border. Erdogan in his turn stressed that Turkey as always supports the settlement of the Karabakh conflict on the basis of the norms of international law - within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

The heads of states noted that "Turkey and Azerbaijan are there for each other in all matters."

According to Azerbaijani media, referring to the press service of the Azerbaijani President, during Aliyev-Tillerson meeting it was stressed that bilateral relations are successfully developing in various spheres, including political and energy spheres. During the conversation, the sides in turn discussed the settlement of Karabakh conflict.

It should be reminded that due to the growing tension on the Karabakh-Azerbaijani border as a result of the Azerbaijani provocation, the Karabakh conflict is again in the focus of attention of the international community.
