Welcoming the guest, the President of Armenia highlighted the importance of the Yerevan-hosted conferences, which are supposed to help expand and develop the Armenian-Russian cooperation. Serzh Sargsyan said they have become a good platform for dialogue and direct contacts between the local authorities, business and expert communities of the two countries.
The interlocutors stressed the need for holding such forums on a regular basis, which allow the sides to discuss topical issues, reveal and tap the potential for development of bilateral cooperation.
The meeting next focused on issues of strengthening trade and economic ties between Armenia and Russia and expanding cooperation in industry. In this connection, President Sargsyan expressed the hope that Minister Manturov’s visit would bolster the cooperation between Russian and Armenian manufacturers. It can also help develop cooperatives and joint initiatives, especially as the two countries seem to enjoy wider opportunities thanks to interaction within the EAEU frameworks.
