Eco-Rugs of Karabakh Carpet Are Highly Demanded
The first 10 eco-rugs produced by Karabakh Carpet have immediately been sold, Artsakh Press reports.
The director of Karabakh Carpet Company Sevak Khachatryan on the occasion noted that the peculiarity of eco-rugs is that it is not subjected to chemical processing, it is free of color additives and has a relaxing effect even in a visual sense.
He noted that all process is carried out without using modern technologies.
"Our ancestors also used to make eco-rugs. In literature it is noted that in Armenia there were 11-12 shades of wool. However, we have managed to receive only 7, which are numbered and coded. We are trying to raise the Armenian carpet art to a new level," said Sevak Khachatryan and added that they are working hard to get the same old colors that have ever been used in carpet arts.
Referring to the company's activities, Khachatryan mentioned that in recent years more than 500 types of rugs have been restored and weaved in Karabakh Carpet, and now they are making new ornamented rugs. According to the director, the company has 100 employees.
