Armenian Men’s Team Leads at the European Chess Championship

During the round 2 of the European Championship in Greece on Sunday, the Armenian Men’s Team defeated the second team of Greece with the score 2,5:1,5, the Chess Federation of Armenia reports.

Armenian GM Levon Aronian and Gabriel Sargsyan claimed victories, Hrant Melkumyan played a draw, while Sergey Movsesyan suffered a defeat.

After two rounds, 7 national teams with 4 points lead the table. The Armenian team will face Croatia in the next round planned for Monday.

Meanwhile, the Armenian women’s team suffered defeat from Ukraine by the score 1:3 and will face Serbia round.
