EDB Chairman Does Not Rule Out the Possibility of Azerbaijan's Participation in EDB
"I do not see anything terrible if Azerbaijan participates in the Eurasian Development Bank. Moreover, the EDB is not identical with the EAEU," Dmitry Pankin, the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Development Bank said today at a meeting with journalists in the framework of the 12th international conference "Eurasian Integration: Stagnation or Development?" that takes place on October 31.
"Second, I do not see anything terrible if Armenia and Azerbaijan participate in a single financial institution. Life goes on. Even today, both countries are members of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization," Pankin said.
According to Pankin, the EDB was negotiating with Azerbaijan about the possible participation of Baku in the EDB projects, but now they only consider those projects in which both sides are interested.
The Chairman of the EDB Board positively assessed the investment climate in Armenia, stressing that the EDB is considering projects in the energy sector, construction of greenhouses with the company "Spayka", road construction projects are also being carried out.
It should be noted that today the signing of Memorandum of cooperation between the Eurasian Development Bank and CJSC "Electric Networks Armenia" will take place within the framework of the conference.
