Rada Rejected a Decision to Dismiss Arsen Avakov
Parliament Speaker Andrey Parubiy informed that the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during the plenary session on Tuesday had not supported the decision on dismissal of Interior Minister
"Three years ago, I filed a resolution on my own authorship to appoint Arsen Avakov as the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. I want to remind you that at that time in the streets of Kyiv there was not a single policeman. Three years ago, there were not so many people who were able to take responsibility. Arsen Avakov was one of those who took responsibility. I do not regret that I offered Avakov for this position. Then there was the war, then there was the creation of the National Guard. Arsen Avakov was on the front line along with the fighters. And today, the National Police and the National Guard are being reformed, they should be sure that Arsen Avakov is a sufficient authority," Parubiy said.
So, the draft resolution No. 5041 was supported by only 31 deputies.
"102 deputies vote against. The ruling was rejected," Parubiy said.
