Armenian School will be Opened in New Zealand

The head of the Armenian community of New Zealand Nubar Yagubyan said that the Armenian Sunday school will be opened in Oakland soon. "The school functioned since 1996, but it was closed due to a lack of students," the head of the community said.
According to Nubar Yagubian, the current training program includes online classes in which specialists from Armenia are involved. The main goal of the program is to unite compatriots and solve the problem of ignorance of the native language.
According to the 2004 data, about 2,000 Armenians live in New Zealand, mainly from Iraq, Iran, Lebanon and partly from Armenia. Most live in the cities of Oakland and Wellington.
