Armenian and Georgian Ministers Discussed Construction of Tunnel near Lars Checkpoint
Mr. Vahan Martirosyan, Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of Armenia, met with Mr. Zurab Alavidze, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia in Tbilisi, Press Service of Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of RA reports.
A number of programs were discussed during the meeting, including details regarding the construction of the tunnel near to the Stepantsminda-Lars highway.
Mr. Martirosyan highlighted the importance of that road for Armenia and expressed hope that special attention would be paid to the snow-clearing works of the road until the construction of the tunnel.
Mr. Zurab Alavidze assured that they did their best to ensure the road possibility. He emphasized that the corresponding structures of Georgia carried out road cleaning works in an emergency regime.
The issues regarding the expansion of the motorway of the road section of the neutral zone of Georgia and Russia and the modernization of the road linking Georgia to Armenia were also discussed during the meeting.
