Germany Considered more Applications for Asylum than all other EU Countries Together

For the first 6 months of 2017, Germany has considered more applications for asylum than all other EU countries together. This was written on Monday, December 4, by the newspaper Die Welt.
Die Welt notes that the data of the EU statistical agency diverge from the data of the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees. According to the calculations of the latter, more than 388,000 applications for asylum were considered in the FRG.
Since April 2016, about 15,000 new asylum seekers have arrived in the country every month.
