RA National Assembly President: Armenian Is Ready to Promote the Establishment of the EU-EAEU Dialogue

On December 8, the RA NA President Ara Babloyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to the Republic of Armenia Sorin Vasile, who had visited the parliament on completing his diplomatic mission in our country, the press service of the RA NA informs. 

The Head of the parliament, assessing the Ambassador’s contribution to the expansion and deepening of the Armenian-Romanian relations, has noted that the two peoples’ friendship has a history of centuries.

The RA NA President documented that the generations of the Armenians who survived the Armenian Genocide at the beginning of the twentieth century and got asylum in Romania, today are dignified citizens of that country.

Touching upon the RA-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement signed in Brussels in November the RA NA President has noted that Armenia, opening its doors to Europe and the EAEU, is ready to promote the establishment of the EU-EAEU dialogue.

Ara Babloyan referred to the importance of the two countries’ cooperation on other international platforms and supporting each other.

Thanking for the reception, Sorin Vasile talked about the achievements recorded in the bilateral relations during his tenure in Armenia. The Ambassador highlighted the commonalities of the two peoples’ value of systems and the historical destiny.

Sorin Vasile noted with joy that during the period of the implementation of his mission witnessed the development of democracy in our country.

With regards to the Partnership Agreement between the RA-EU, the Ambassador has stated that Armenia being an EAEU member has a big potential and opportunity to become a bridge between the EU and EAEU.

Ambassador Vasile expressed his gratitude to the RA National Assembly for cooperating with the Embassy of Romania and promoting the enlivening of the friendly bilateral relations.

At the end of the meeting Ara Babloyan wished the Ambassador success and new achievements during his further activities.
