Women Banned to Drive in Turkmenistan

Driving car in Turkmenistan is prohibited for women, AKI press reports.
Authorities banned women to drive the car in the middle of December 2017 regardless of existence of driving licences. In January 2018, the patrol police started seizing women’s driving licenses and sending cars to the parking lot.
According to a source close to the patrol police, the Minister of Interior earlier appealed to the President and told that most of the road accidents occur due to the women drivers or with participation of women drivers.
