Azerbaijan Has Asserted the Continuity of the Genocidal Policy: Larisa Alaverdyan
Azerbaijan, which appeared on the world political map in 1918, has asserted the continuity of the genocidal policy, that was carried out in the years of 1915-1923 against the Armenian people in the Ottoman Empire.
During the parliamentary hearings on "Sumgait Massacres: Armenophobia as a State Policy of Azerbaijan" at the National Assembly, Larisa Alaverdyan, President of the ''Against Law Violations'' NGO, told to the journalists.
She reminded that as a result of this policy of Azerbaijan, Nakhichevan was completely deported, stressing that the Artsakh movement originated in 1988 due to the threat of Armenian deportation.
"Very often the experts say that the massacres of Armenians in Sumgait occurred in response to the Artsakh movement. It is not the case. Let's clarify that it happened with the opposite logic," Alaverdyan said.
According to her, the brutality that took place during the April war in 2016 once again proved that we deal with a consistent genocidal policy.
