Iranian Supreme Leader: Iran Played a Significant Role in Defeating Islamic State in the Region

Iran played a significant role in defeating Islamic State in the region, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday in a speech broadcast live on state TV, Reuters reports.
Khamenei said the United States is not capable of creating stability in the region and pointed to the U.S. military presence in Afghanistan as an example during the speech from the city of Mashad.
