Senator John McCain Dies at 81
John McCain, war hero, senator, presidential contender, died on Saturday at his home in Arizona. He was 81.
According to a statement from his office, Mr. McCain died at 4:28 p.m. local time. He had suffered from a malignant brain tumor, called a glioblastoma, for which he had been treated periodically with radiation and chemotherapy since its discovery in 2017, Тhe New York Times reported.
Senator John McCain will lie in state in the Capitol Rotunda and receive a full dress funeral service at the Washington National Cathedral.
The senator’s office informed that an official memorial schedule would be announced once funeral arrangements were finalized.
