“People’s Servant,” From Movie to Reality
He has already been a president, but in a TV series. He is a young actor, showman, host, screen writer. He is also a businessman, however not a politician. He has never held state offices and has not pursued a political career. He has made a lot of speeches, not from political pulpits or rally platforms, but from concert stages. He has managed to get the title of Ukraine's Ronald Reagan.
It is about Vladimir Zelensky, triumphing in Ukraine's first round of presidential elections with 5.5 million of votes. He received more votes than acting president Poroshenko and experienced political figure Tymoshenko.
Zelensky, founder and creative director of “Kvartal 95” studio, announced about his candidacy in 2019 presidential elections on December 31, 2018, during the new year show program of “Evening kvartal,” 1 minute before the clocks struck new year.
Vladimir Zelensky's political path began in December of 2017 Since December, with the appearance of a new political party in Ukraine, called "People's Servant." Prior to that, the “Kvartal 95” studio had launched its "People’s Servant" TV series, with Zelensky as the producer and the leading actor. The TV series and the image of the president of Zelensky in Ukraine are quite popular. Later the production team and the sponsors decided to capitalize on that popularity and call the party the "People's Servant." At the time Zelensky assured that the "People's Servant" was not a political project, but on December 31, 2018 its objectives were disclosed.
Zelensky about Armenia and Armenians
After the March 31 presidential votes, in response to Radio Liberty's question "what would you say about Armenia? Have you ever been to Armenia?” Zelensky said, "It's a very beautiful country. There is a wonderful Armenian person among our staff. I have been to Yerevan. It's a very beautiful city. It has always seemed to me that cool designers have designed it... It has been a long time, really, since 1997. But I remember, we were playing at the "Club of the Funny and Inventive People," we were playing with the New Armenians in the final, and with the "New Armenians" in the Champions League. So they invited us there. Gorgeous speeches were made. People warm and welcoming.”
P.S. Vladimir Zelensky is so popular in Ukraine that according to the Ukrainian media the central electoral employees asked for his signature while he was submitting papers.
