The British Parliament Approves a Law to Avoid Brexit Without Agreement
By an overwhelming majority (390 votes to 81), the British Parliament approved this Monday night the emergency law to avoid Brexit "without agreement ", after passing through the House of Lords, The Tellereport reports.
An unusual alliance between parties, led by the Labor Yvette Cooper and the conservative Oliver Letwin, allowed the approval of the law in the absence of five days for the date set for the Brexit, on April 12. Only the hard wing of the Conservative Party opposed text that obliges the Government to renounce the most extreme and most economically damaging option of the Brexit.
Parliament will return to action on Tuesday to discuss the extension of Article 50, coinciding with Theresa May's trip to Parris and Berlin to negotiate precisely a new extension until June 30. The British Government had warned in advance that the interference of Parliament, which may propose another date, limits the negotiating capacity of the "premier".
