President Armen Sarkissian Discussed the Situation in Beirut and Problems of the Armenian Community of Lebanon with the President of AGBU Berge Setrakian
President Armen Sarkissian discussed the situation caused by a powerful explosion in the seaport of the capital city of Lebanon, Beirut and problems of the Armenian community of Lebanon with the President of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) Berge Setrakian.
President Sarkissian and President of the AGBU spoke about the consequences of the explosion, particularly about the human and material losses suffered by the Armenian community of Lebanon and sustained damages.
The interlocutors discussed the urgent issues related to providing expeditious assistance to the Armenian community and noted at the same time that considering the gravity of the situation and its critical nature, the assistance must be continuous. The President of Armenia and President of the AGBU stressed the importance of implementing coordinated programs of assistance by the state as well as by the national and church structures.
